Sailing around the world – Co-ownership

Our sailing yacht Bon Aventura wants to sail around the world.

We are hiring crew.

You can book a “leg” by registering, getting approved and paying.

Dreamed route

We aim for always having a crew of 6 (two has to be a couple, due to double berth).

The boat is currently in Sweden and part of the boat is owned by a foundation based on a community farm that you can visit as a shareholder.

Our “green” approach and way of living is described in more details here.

Type of sailing

40 foot steel ketch, long keel sailing yacht.

We aim for natural anchorages, close to nature.
We aim for clear water.
We aim for sea mammal encounters.
We look for diving opportunities.
We like good food and hanging out with other travelers.
We may fish.
We may invest time and endure uncomfort to reach interesting spots.
We read books and talk about things.
Good if you can express yourself through music.
We constantly repair.
We avoid marina (fees) but sometimes we need it.
We avoid starting the engine (but sometimes we need it)

Cost share and co-ownership

All people on board must deposit a return-fare sum of 500€ or show a valid ticket (the boat is legally responsible for you to be able to leave the country where you disembark).

A deposit for possible marina fees, port/entry fees or fuel costs of 100€ a month.

All fees paid in advance.

Paying crew (regardless of skill level)

25€/day, including very basic food.

Our shareholding system

If you crew longer than 6 weeks you need to be a 1% shareholder (600€).

When you leave, your share can be sold to next person joining (or keep your share and join again later).
Shareholders vote according to % on issues regarding the project. Like detailed route planning.
We aim to maintain and keep the value of the boat.

Shareholder daily fee

10-15€ /day (depending on circumstances).

Leg lengthRequired share
3-6 months3% (1800€)
7-12 months5% (3000€)
13+ months7% (4200€)

The skipper must always be 10% shareholder
The skipper never pays more than 10€/day, if possible.
