Social media (and our relationship to them)

We are not fans of social media.
We prefer authentic human interactions.
We try to stay away from our screens as much as possible at Hästekasen.

Social media create addictions, and a fake and often closed minded representation of the world.

Also, they steal our personnal data.
Even if you think you have “nothing to hide”, it feeds a mass surveillance system.

However, social media can also be a place for self expression and to share interesting projects with the world… and find like-minded people.

Like for our self-sustainability, there is the ideal, the goal, and there is reality.

This is why Hästekasen shares its adventures and projects on a YouTube chanel. But we are the most active on our Facebook group – you are welcome to join. And we have an Instagram but inactive for some years.

There are alternatives

One of them is called Kamooni. Open source, no data collection, no-profit, no adds.

It is a social media for creative people.

It is designed as a community-building and action-oriented platform for change makers—people who seek to co-create.

Map based.

This is still the beta phase.

“Whether your ambition is to launch a neighborhood project, form a study group, or organize a global movement, Kamooni will offer offers a flexible framework that encourages inclusivity, self-sovereign participation, and engagement incentives, all aimed at fostering positive societal impact.”
